+++ Kettcar come from Hamburg and were founded in 2001 +++ In 2002 they set up their own record label Grand Hotel van Cleef together with Thees Uhlmann from the band Tomte and then released their debut album Du und wieviel von Deinen Freunden +++ The Album was frenetically acclaimed by the music press (Rolling Stone: a groundbreaking album. Visions: the best German-speaking album for a long, long time) +++ In 2005 the second album Von Spatzen und Tauben, Dächern und Händen was released. Up to now it has sold 70.000 Copies +++ The album entered the German charts at position 5 +++ The Tagesthemen, Germanys most important news program broadcasted a kettcar feature story +++ The following tour was completely sold out +++ There was a huge response from the newspaper feature pages +++ Kettcar played support shows for Coldplay und REM +++ The band was nominated for the ECHO, the most important German music award +++ In September 2006 Kettcar were invited to go on tour in Russia by the Goethe-Institute in Moscow +++ FAZ am Sonntag wrote: For some people, who think that music is love, kettcar is the best band in the world. For more demure people kettcar is just the best band in Germany. +++ The third album Sylt was recorded from August 2007 to Januar 2008 in Hamburg and Berlin +++ The 12 songs were produced by Moses Schneider (Tocotronic, Beatsteaks), Tobias Siebert (Phillip Boa, Klez.e) and Swen Meyer (Tomte, Kettcar) +++ All 12 Songs were finally mixed by Swen Meyer +++ The cover artwork shows the painting Hochbahn by David Schnell
